What a week!
Posted on September 27th, 2008 5 commentsThanks Pat for your words of encouragement…..
have had a busy week starting the preparations for the Knitting and stitching show…have a look at the newsletter that we have sent out to tell those who wish to receive on what we are doing..
The moulding mesh vessels are (even though I say it myself) really good fun and like sooo many things have alot more potential ..I have just been tinkering around with hand stitching them.
Today I was the guest of .. A little bit more than….. who are at the Edwinstowe craft centre which is set just on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Edwinstowe Church is where Robin is supposed to have The Maid Marion… There is a delightful depiction of them in bronze on the high street.
Anyway there were some lovely ladies we had a very creative time and a lot of fun nattering and chattering so thanks Jean for inviting me.
some of the tags we made using creative colour sprays.

The print….
Posted on September 17th, 2008 2 commentsI did the collagraph as a homage to the big accelerator that came on line on wednesday .Many years ago I would have called myself a printmaker and indeed had the immense privalige of being taught by Charles Woolaston. As a student of his, we all recieved hand cut prints from him at Christmas. It was years later that I came to realise who he was and how lucky I was to have him tutor us.. he was past retirement.. …to me he was just Mr Woolaston who ran the store and did printing and also painted. So when I get a chance to get my fingers dirty with ink and access to a press I go for it.

Nearly got the hang of it all!
Posted on September 17th, 2008 No commentsIt has been quite a busy few days. I have been looking at some new things for craftynotions and have been talking to some lovely people who are working in Bulgaria who need a felt maker! so as some of you know I have a professional interest in the training and development of artwork for people in ‘cared for’ situations. I am so hoping that all the things that need to happen ..do. in which case I will be going out as a volunteer in Jan 2009. Email me privately if you wish to know more about the group. Also I think I have nearly got the process of posting of images!!

Exciting news for me!!!!
Posted on September 6th, 2008 2 commentsMy new big book on silk paper for textile-artists has arrived. So I have attached a picture to prove the reality after over a year of writing, re-writing, making etc etc… however I am really pleased with it, the colours, the pictures, the design, let alone the excellent content! tongue and cheek! are just lovely. From Monday we’ll be taking pre-orders which will receive a complementary gift from the craftynotions website.
It was nice to see old friends and new at the Craft 4 Crafters show here in Newark although I think we could have all done without the rain. Also many thanks to my pal Judith who made a brilliant quilt out of the some of the blocks that I was printing at the Festival of Quilts show out of our stencils and the tee juice fabic. Althought we’ll have ti for a while it is destined for a charity in Newark
