I’m delighted to say we’ve been visited by Tim Holtz who thought we were “cool”. Suze Weinberg who took photos of me and demos and put them on her blog, not the most flattering photos of me anyway but it was very nice of her to take interest in what I was doing.. Back in Newark I’ll upload some images. We’ve lots of new products are ready to go on the craftynotions website soon..

It will be accessible for the lifetime of the course .. I have had a few emails asking about this and if it is time sensitive (as I believe that some on-line classes are only available to download for a very short period of time). It is, the class is running for 2 months in total with part 2 starting on the 10th Feburary.

Went to see Avatar with family and it was utterly gob-smacking! Absolutely brilliant and we are hoping to go see it again fairly soon as there was so many fantastic visuals you couldn’t possibly take it all in one go.

On this Sunday morning it is heavy moist air so much so that when spot went out he came back in with a covering of water droplets which he immediately transfered to me when he jumped on my lap and proceeded to shake himself like a dog which is strange as he’s a cat!!

I will shout yippee when it is done. Taken far longer than I thought it would.

Also I have done quite a lot of filming for the online classes and You Tube, they will be ready for viewing in the next week or so.

We had a really busy time at the Knitting and Stitching Show. Met loads of people, Hello to Viv, Gabi, Ermintrude… To name just a few. And good to catch up with Dale and Ian and his cold germs!

The talk I gave to the Danish Felters went well and it will be lovely to see them all again in July in Denmark. (Details later) Next year will be a very busy exhibiting year as I will have the pieces for Denmark and work for the exhibition here in Newark with The Group. I will post al the details soon.

The work on the new space is gaining pace and we are painting the floor in the warehouse bit . I have tables and chairs waiting for delivery. more importantly I have been to Ikea for storage and no I didn’t come back with everything but showed great restraint!

As my lovely son says when he arrives home. Well whats up is I’ve been beavering away creating new stamps some of which was launched at The Big Stamp Show in London and also at the Knitting and Stitching Show also at Ally Pally in the coming weeks. The Seedpod stamp is what I’ve used to do pieces in the pictures below. They are stamped, stitched, painted, gilded and they were a load of fun to make, until I realized I was getting obsessed and moved on to doing things with hot dots which is something else that we have brought in to the craftynotions family of goodies. Anyway the pictures are below. I’ve used Khadi zig zag as the backgrounds. The paper stitches beautifully and takes colours like a dream.

Hot Dots, ermm… One could get obsessed by these as well. These are the ones Kim T uses in her Hot Textiles book. On the pieces I have done I have used them to overlay previously foiled velvet to give a subtle on a colour sprayed background with a different coloured foils.

Just to let you know as well the Flower Stitchers are on their way and one final thing. The teaching studio that we have been waiting for will be ready very soon. I’m so excited and we’ll probably post the evolution of it from a shell to a creative hub.

It was really lovely to see old friends and new. The workshop ladies were lovely and made some amazing printed fabrics.One of the  Most amazing was meeting Zsophia who  along with some of her textile friends had my Silk book and were from Hungary.If you get to read this post ..I hope you all enjoy playing with the Rusting Powder .Also Denise from Luxemburg…I hope the ladies of your weekly have a creative time with the Rusty Stuff….

I never fail to be delighted at the way textiles can be a universal language.

I did learn alot from the Russian Quilters…with oohs and ahahs it is all you really need to communicate….but I just could not get my tongue around the Swedish for Vinegar…..let alone the Spanish……but there was a tremendous amount of giggling….
