Open Weekend
Posted on July 4th, 2010 No commentsIts Sunday afternoon and we are absolutely exhausted but we have so much fun meeting old friends and new. The weather has held although it been very windy and so I am glad we didn’t put the tent up otherwise it would have defiantly blown away. Great-full thanks to all who stepped up to help us, Floina, Lynn, Pat (See picture), Tom, Chris, Adam and also my friend Christine and her mum Jean for doing all the Teas and Coffees for which donations were gratefully received for the MS Society.
Pictures below give you a flavor of the event..

Finishing up at the Show
Posted on February 23rd, 2010 1 commentI’ve been really busy working hard at the trade this week for the craft industy. I’m delighted to say we’ve been visited by Tim Holtz who thought we were “cool”. Suze Weinberg who took photos of me and demos and put them on her blog, not the most flattering photos of me anyway but it was very nice of her to take interest in what I was doing.. Back in Newark I’ll upload some images. We’ve lots of new products are ready to go on the craftynotions website soon..

Very Cold and Snowy
Posted on January 10th, 2010 No commentsIt has snowed most of this week .. but we have been furiously working on the on-line class/tutorial which has launched today. It will be accessible for the lifetime of the course .. I have had a few emails asking about this and if it is time sensitive (as I believe that some on-line classes are only available to download for a very short period of time). It is, the class is running for 2 months in total with part 2 starting on the 10th Feburary.

Nearly There
Posted on December 5th, 2009 No commentsWe have been working tirelessly at the unit getting all the building work done and it is so close to being finished. I will shout yippee when it is done. Taken far longer than I thought it would.
Also I have done quite a lot of filming for the online classes and You Tube, they will be ready for viewing in the next week or so.
Here are a few pictures from the first workshop!

Newsletter
Posted on June 9th, 2009 No commentsThis is the newsletter we are sending out and I thought I would post it here too.
Just to keep you updated with what’s going on here at Craftynotions. We’ve been very busy finding new things, designing new things and making new things!
Firstly, to let you know that we have our annual Open Weekend on July 4th and 5th. As usual teas and coffees etc are being done for us by Newark MS Group. We will be having loads of demonstrations offered by Leonie Pujol of QVC and magazine fame, but she’s doing a textile degree so is keen and eager to use our textiley things. Our good friend Pat Grant will be with us on the Sunday as her grandchild is getting married on the Saturday. We’ve got Lincolnshire Spinners and Weavers coming with their spinning wheels and all their expertise so you may be able to learn how to drop a spindle or even have a go on a wheel. And of course I’ll be doing rolling demos on some of our new things.
We will also have exhibitions from The Group. This is a gang of pals who meet up regularly, discuss the world, discuss needlework, felting, quilting, projects and ongoing themes and produce work for exhibitions. There will also be exhibitions of my own work.
As you know we’ll have lots of bargains, lots of one-offs, and hopefully lots of fun and ideas to be shared.
You’ll also be pleased to know that we’ve found lots more chairs this year, but we are really hoping that it doesn’t rain as much as it did last year.
If you can’t make it to the Open Day then you might be interested to know that I am teaching at Rufford Craft Centre. The first on Sunday 6th September which is Friendly Plastics for Embroiders and on Sunday 6 December which is Floral Felting for Embroiderers.

Nearly got the hang of it all!
Posted on September 17th, 2008 No commentsIt has been quite a busy few days. I have been looking at some new things for craftynotions and have been talking to some lovely people who are working in Bulgaria who need a felt maker! so as some of you know I have a professional interest in the training and development of artwork for people in ‘cared for’ situations. I am so hoping that all the things that need to happen ..do. in which case I will be going out as a volunteer in Jan 2009. Email me privately if you wish to know more about the group. Also I think I have nearly got the process of posting of images!!

Hello
Posted on August 11th, 2008 2 commentsOh.. this is a bit scary! Hello to the blogging world. As some of you will know I have just had one little book published ‘Wild Women’ part of the reason for my venture into this rather new way of communicating (for me) is that we have had some lovely mail and there is a growing community of people who are making the ladies and who can’t get to my workshops and who are just interested in textiles. I will be honest and tell you that I am really not that confident with technology so I am sure to make a few (or more than a few) mistakes so please bear with me .
Hopefully the blog will have some pictures, mini tutorials, some Wild Women and keep you all in touch with new products from craftynotions.com and what to do with them.
